Watching films by day, attending parties by night is a tough job, and I’m in! As I packed (and I mean PACKED) my car for the 5-day festival, my strategy was to bring fun, comfortable and appropriate outfits for all the events I would be attending. Full disclosure: I brought 2 leather jackets, 6 slacks, a bunch of sweaters & tops, 7 party looks and 13 pairs of shoes! I think I may have over-packed a little.
The following are some of my favorite looks (on me AND others) from the week’s events:
A very intimate lunch was hosted by the San Francisco Opera Guild at the newRoka Akor restaurant in San Francisco on August 14th in anticipation of The Opera Ball 2013: The Garden of Good and Evil, taking place tomorrow, September 6th. The opening of San Francisco Opera’s 91st Season will feature an ambiance created by Colin Cowie, internationally acclaimed designer and celebrity event producer.
Matthew Singer, Men’s Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus,
sat down with me to discuss spring trends for men. He shared his views on updating a guy’s wardrobe, his favorite designers, and the single accessory that might just change your life…the pocket square.

Known for designs that consistently rock the red carpet, Mark Badgley and James Mischka brought Hollywood glamour and Fashion Week excitement to Walnut Creek during a recent personal appearance at Neiman Marcus. The men behind design powerhouse Badgley Mischka sat down to answer just a few of the one million questions (only a slight exaggeration!) I had for two of my favorite designers.

Forget San Francisco. Walnut Creek’s Neiman Marcus continues to draw top tier designers to the East Bay, making a trip across the Bay Bridge feel unnecessary. The latest style icon to hit our neck of the woods? Bay Area native Trina Turk, who caught up with personal style consultant and Diablo style writer Carolyn Rovner during a personal appearance at the department store in September…

Neiman Marcus Fashion Director, Ken Downing brought the best of spring 2012 to Walnut Creek. He styled outfits using clothing/accessories from a variety of designers such as Chanel, Jason Wu, Stella McCartney, and Diane Von Furstenburg. Favorite trends included every shade of pink, yellow as a neutral, Hawaiian prints, “hi-low” flowing skirts, and animal prints. We shared a moment, and then became “besties”!
