“Las Vegas” and “Style” can be an enormous contradiction in terms! If you’ve been there, you know. Dining in a Five-Star restaurant, cruising through the casinos, and relaxing poolside people are wearing EVERYTHING under the sun. A t-shirt and shorts stands next to a bridal gown, while a too-skimpy party dress hobbles by in too-high stilettos…the best people watching EVER!
I was recently in Las Vegas, and I cannot tell you how many trainwrecks I saw. However, this is not the “Glamour don’ts” blog, and I do not mock people for their choice of outfits…although, sometimes they clearly deserve it. I come from a place of understanding and helpfulness. We all have talents, and sometimes that one’s not at the top of the list. That’s ok! It’s why I’m here. 🙂
The sun is shining bright, and you’re enjoying the day outside. Don’t squint! Make sure you have sunglasses that will not only protect your eyes, but will be chic, too. Not sure what’s up this season? Here are some tips for choosing the best for summer 2011:
(1) Know your face shape–round, square, oval, long or heart-shaped. Choose frames that create balance. For example, if your face is round or if you have round features (like I have a round nose, cheeks and chin), then select frames with angles. None of the retro round shades for me! If your face is more angular (square or heart-shaped), then you need a rounded frame to soften the angles of your face. If your face is long, try frames that have some depth (2 plus inches from top to bottom) or over-sized to create some width in your face. You don’t want anything that is too small or narrow–these will make your face look even longer. Oval shaped faces are in luck…they can pretty much wear anything!
It’s holiday party season! You’ve gotten “all dolled up” in a new outfit…every detail is perfect! Before you know it, photos are being taken. When you see the photos, the chick in the picture looks nothing like the fabulous “you” you saw in the mirror before leaving the hous Social Dynamix e! How did that happen?
