Carolyn’s services were a great mid-life crisis therapy session. I Knew I needed to do something different, but wasn’t sure what. Her service precluded me from changing jobs or some other dramatic event — I just went shopping instead. The results were fantastic and much less stressful.
The closet clean-out service was one of the scariest things I have done in my life (which includes sky diving and other adrenaline-chasing activities). When Carolyn left that day (with all of my clothes sans 1-2 outfits), it was pretty disturbing. I knew that my previous wardrobe didn’t draw a lot of comments, but even some of the new stuff I’d just bought went in the same pile as my favorite suits from 10 years ago! However, walking into the fitting room for the replacement session still is my favorite memory of this year! It was like the scene from Pretty Woman when she’s shopping at Rodeo Drive — only the labels were different!!
Carolyn asked me to be her assistant at a Fall Fashion local event in Walnut Creek (at Changes Salon). Her concept was a “before” and “after” look. Since “before” was only about 3-4 months previous, I was surprised beyond belief what it felt like to be in my old clothes / style. My posture changed as well as my mannerisms and self-confidence. When I changed into the “Fall Fashion Look #1,” it validated the decision to use C2 Style services. The response from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive.
I didn’t know that people like Carolyn even existed — if a friend hadn’t told me about her, and what she could or would do, my closet would be full of Birkenstocks and polypropylene! However, now that Carolyn has entered my life, I can’t imagine anything different. Each day is an exciting adventure of “what shall I wear today?” Carolyn’s impact was larger than my closet — I’m taking her to Seattle (as a gift) to help repeat the experience for my sister who is turning 40 this year. Can hardly wait to spread the joy!!
Recently, I met my “arch-enemy” at a trade show. We have really battled it out during fierce negotiation sessions at the board table — however, at this hallway meeting, all he could comment on was how “sharp” my outfit looked. Coming from a European, this is pretty high praise!!”
